Blaustein (dpa) – An eight-year-old girl was hit by a car near Ulm and died. The car hit the child on a sidewalk in Blaustein, and the girl was thrown away, police said. He died of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
A companion with whom the girl was traveling was slightly injured. It was not known at first who the partner was and whether she was also hit by the car.
Before the accident, the 85-year-old driver went into the oncoming lane for an unknown reason and then onto the sidewalk where the child and his companion were walking. After the accident with the eight-year-old child, the car crashed into a billboard and came to a stop on the wall of a house behind it. The driver and his passenger, who was 84, were slightly injured.
