A four-year-old girl has been pronounced dead after what police describe as a dog attack in Milton Keynes, England.
That’s what the news channel writes Sky News.
Went on the attack
Police were called by the ambulance service at around 5pm on Tuesday following reports that a dog had attacked a child at a property in Netherfield, Milton Keynes.
Shortly afterwards, it was confirmed that a child had lost his life in the incident.
Officers at the scene are said to have euthanized the dog, and it is reported that no one else was injured. So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
The child’s family is now being followed up by local authorities.
– Tragic incident
Matt Bullivant of the local police commented on the death on Tuesday.
– This is an incredibly tragic incident where we believe that a child has been killed after being attacked by a dog, he says.
“It is clear that we are in the early stages of an investigation and it would be incorrect and unhelpful to speculate on the exact circumstances surrounding this incident at this time,” Bullivant continues.
Double gang murder shakes
It is still unclear exactly what happened in the time before the girl was declared dead, and the police officer is now making an appeal to the local community:
– Anyone with concerns should feel free to approach our officers and ask questions, but I encourage people not to speculate about the circumstances, especially on social media platforms, he says.
“I understand the impact this will have on the community and the public and people can expect to see a large police presence in the area this evening and beyond as our investigation continues,” Bullivant added.
