Toddler Critically Injured in Bronx Hit-and-Run, Suspect Still at Large
Bronx, New York – A 3-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being struck by a moped while innocently playing on a Bronx sidewalk. The horrifying incident occurred just past 1 p.m. on Friday, sending shockwaves through the community.
The young victim was enjoying some time outdoors on Holland Avenue when a moped, described as blue with black stripes, slammed into her. The rider, callous in his actions, immediately fled the scene, leaving the child lying injured on the pavement.
"According to a New York Post report", the little girl sustained a fractured skull and suffered bleeding to the face. She was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi where she remains in serious condition.
The NYPD has released surveillance images of the alleged perpetrator in an attempt to bring him to justice. The suspect retreated down the street, limping significantly, after the hit-and-run.
He was wearing black sweatpants and sandals, having shed his orange jacket in his hasty escape.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward immediately. This dangerous individual poses a threat to the community and must be apprehended.
As the toddler fights for her life, her family and community grieve and demand justice for this senseless act of violence.
