Girl (2) drowned in Rotterdam | Inland

At around 7:30 PM, the police received a report that a girl was missing. According to an emergency services spokesperson, the child was playing in the playground and disappeared from view of her parents. A local police officer happened to be in the area and so a large search campaign was quickly set up.

At first, the police searched the residential area, but there was no trace of her. The child was found in the water at Sterkenburgsingel around 8:00 PM. She was immediately removed from the pond and resuscitated. Unfortunately this was no longer helpful.

The police call it a fatal accident. “The parents are not paying attention and the girl has probably fallen into the nearby water. She was still wearing her coat, so she was heavy and sank to the bottom. Of course she couldn’t swim yet. ”

The parents were taken care of by the emergency services.
