A 15-year-old girl who was driving a car was injured last night when she ran off the road while fleeing an enforcer and crashed into a tree. A second occupant, a 25-year-old man from Ede, was injured. Two other passengers escaped unscathed.
The car was noticed around 9.15 pm last night, because the driver was driving on a forest road in Lunteren that is closed to vehicles, reports Broadcasting Gelderland. An enforcer noticed this and gave a stop sign, but the girl ignored that and took off at full speed. The enforcer followed, but kept a safe distance, according to police.
Between Lunteren and Ede, the teenager lost control of the wheel. She was taken to hospital, as was the 25-year-old man from Ede. The nature of their injuries has not been released.
The police are still investigating the incident. So far it is only clear that the driver had not drunk too much alcohol.
