October 17 will remain a memorable date in the history of Giorgio Armani: the king of Italian elegance inaugurated his new building on Madison Avenue in New York. And he did it during an unforgettable event, during which he also presented the new spring-summer 2025 fashion collection. We indeed missed his presence during the last Milan Fashion Week. But the wait was ultimately worth it, as proven by the five reasons why which we can consider this day in the Big Apple to be memorable.
1. The new Giorgio Armani building on Madison Avenue
Nine thousand square meters, twelve floors and eight street windows: Giorgio Armani’s new building on Madison Avenue is the ultimate destination for Italian elegance in New York. Its aesthetic is inspired by the taste of the 1930s and 1940s, and its interior includes not only the Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa boutiques, but also the Armani restaurant and luxurious residences. An authentically New York living space that fits perfectly into the historic and urban fabric of the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Each floor of the building is suitable for a specific use. On the ground floor it will be possible to discover the fashion collections, including accessories and women’s glasses. A space will also be reserved for Armani beauty lines and Armani Privé perfumes, as well as a tempting selection of Armani/Dolci products. From its separate street entrance, one also accesses the Armani/Ristorante, where one can delight in dishes where Italian cuisine meets New York taste. The first floor is dedicated to jewelry and evening wear, and also offers men’s collections and tailor-made services. The third floor is more devoted to the art of living: furniture, accessories, wallpaper and fabrics make up the vast interior decoration collection.

2. The fashion show in homage to New York of the 1930s and 1940s
The new spring-summer 2025 collection from Giorgio Armani s’titled Traveling and recounts Italian elegance through the visions and memories of the creative director. “For me, New York has always been linked to the many films that have had a profound impact on my imagination,” explains King Giorgio. I think of the city of the 1930s and 1940s, which continues to inspire me and which I evoke, with its atmospheres, in the new collection. »

Indeed, the parade recreated the atmosphere of a large train station, where an Armani woman arrives walking accompanied by a porter with her suitcases. The excursus of his style then continues through clothes that embody what is necessary for any type of occasion. Because life in the Big Apple moves quickly. And as Armani himself explains, its reference to the aesthetics of the 30s and 40s is not nostalgic: “More vital and frenetic than ever, New York is in fact turned towards the future, always ready to indicate new models of life, style and sociality. »
Among the clothes worn on the catwalk in New York, long and soft silhouettes mingle with the oriental inspiration that has always nourished the creativity of Giorgio Armani. The fabrics are fluid, dedicated to expressing casual elegance from day to night through very long shirts, silk pants and slightly oversized capes. Silk scarves and large bags complete the style of the looks, outlining the identity of a woman who, although dynamic and always on the move, seeks perfection in the smallest details.

Precious embroidery, sparkling sequins and jacquard fabrics complete the most chic proposals. Evening dresses range from pastel pink to powder blue, beige, bronze, powder and Giorgio Armani’s signature greige. Accessories include small clutches to carry in the hand, while maximum-sized earrings emphasize the lines of the neck.

3. The parade of stars at the Giorgio Armani fashion show
Many stars attended the fashion show. Throughout his very long and venerable career, Giorgio Armani has cultivated close relationships with figures in the international film industry. Were present – among many others – at his fashion show in the Big Apple Orlando Bloom, Pamela Anderson, Amanda Seyfried, Allison Williams and Alexander Dreymon. 4. Support the New York Restoration Project
New York fashion show was designed with environmental sustainability in mind (in accordance with ISO 20121). From the rental of equipment and accessories to the reuse of materials, from the promotion of selective waste collection to LED lighting, including offsetting residual greenhouse gas emissions from the event through support for environmental projects.
