No “Ohs” and “Ahs”, no music: At the presentation of the current Giorgio Armani collection at the Milan Fashion Week it was quieter than ever this time.
The designer deliberately avoided background music during your show, wanting to take a stand against Putin’s ongoing war in Ukraine. The result: The models walked in a moment of absolute silence, only their footsteps can be heard on the catwalk. Armani’s Instagram page reads: “We convey an important message through silence. Mr. Armani has decided not to use music at the Giorgio Armani Fall Winter Show – as a mark of respect for the terrible tragedy in Ukraine.”
By the way, after the show there was the usual applause – probably not only for Armani’s latest creations, but also for the sign that he set with this unusual show.
