The culture and music industry has been one of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. However, two DJs emerged from the Sucursal del Cielo have managed to take advantage of adversity to not stop growing and take our city to the top of the international top of electronics.
They are Kamilo Sanclemente and Giovanny Aparicio, who together form the duo Gioka Music. Last March, artists became part of the Top 100 of Beatport, one of the most representative platforms of its genre in the world.
“In the pandemic, Gioka Music strengthens as a duo, since before each one had full travel careers and we did not have much time in the studio, less to share. So the first plus of the pandemic is that we had more time to make music together and be in the studio, ”explains Kamilo.
The DJ says that this time has also allowed them to strengthen in the technical part and improve production, increasing the flow of music. Likewise, the Caleños conquered one of the dreams that any electronic artist reveals: to capture the attention of Anjunabeats, the most important record label of the trance genre.
“We achieved many goals that if it had not been for this time in the studio, would have been unattainable, such as Anjunabeats, where high-level artists are sealed. So it was a great achievement, it catapulted us too much ”, added Kamilo.
Gioka Music combines the style of Giovanny Aparicio, deeply rooted in the earthly, in the ancestral with many shamanic nuances; with a totally opposite wave, which is Kamilo Sanclemente, whose sound is characterized by the sidereal, futuristic, spatial and cosmic.
Meanwhile, Giovanny emphasizes that the genre in our city does not stop growing. “The electronic scene in Cali has already gone to another level, after having several DJs now we already have producers in the city and this is something too big, which puts us in the sights of the world electronic scene. DJs are already looking for music from our artists “, he assures.
Gioka maintains that the work continues and that great things are coming as a duo. Both seek with their fusion of aspects to continue reaping successes, positioning the Sultana del Valle and her music at the top of the world top.
