Films and conversations that capture this time. The activities and works of our guest tonight can be described so simply and prominently. This time, not as the host of the conversation, but the respondent – “Mistrus media” producer and presenter Gints Grube.

Journalist, film director and producer Gints Grūbe has obtained a master’s degree in political science, he also studied philosophy and history at the University of Latvia, Bonn and Berlin. Four years ago, he also studied production at the “Inside Pictures” program of the London Film and Television School.

During his career, Gints worked in various fields and positions – he started his activity in such press publications as the newspaper “Atmoda” and the weekly “Nakts”, he also worked in the research journalism office NIP.

For a long time, Gints worked as a TV producer in the company “Labvakar”, and also hosted the prestigious talk show “Vakaras interviewija” for seven years, which has repeatedly received the Radio and Television Award as “Best TV Show”. Currently, once a week Gints can be heard on the air of Latvian Radio, he hosts the program “Brīvības bulvāris”.

Outside the media, Gints has lectured in political science, worked in the President’s Strategic Analysis Commission.

The world of cinema also plays a big role in Gint’s life and career – now he is one of the strongest film producers in Latvia, and has been associated with the film studio “Mistrus media” for many years. Gints headed the Film Council for a while and is also a member of the European Film Academy.

As a producer, director and screenwriter, he worked on several well-received and popular films, for example, he was the producer of Dāvja Sīmanis’ film “Father’s Night” and the multi-part film “Emīlija – Queen of the Latvian Press”. as well as the director and producer of the documentary “The Spy Who Was My Father”.
