(ANSA) – AVIANO, 17 AUGUST – “With deep emotion, I received your invitation to the ceremony in memory of my daughter Giulia. I sincerely thank you for your thoughts and for the initiative you are carrying out, aimed at raising awareness in the community on such a painful and important issue. Even if I am not physically present, my heart is with you, with all those who will remember Giulia and with those who work every day to combat violence against women”. This is the message that Gino Cecchettin delivered this morning to the organizers of “La Camminata per la vita” and to the mayors of Aviano, Paolo Tassan-Zanin, and Barcis, Claudio Traina, who gathered in the Pian delle More area, at the point where last November the lifeless body of the student killed by her ex-boyfriend, Filippo Turetta, was found. A commemorative sign has been installed in the area. The walk for life is an initiative promoted by the group Chei del moss (Those of the donkey) that aims to raise awareness among citizens against violence against women, through a route in stages in western Friuli and more precisely in the places where feminicides have been committed in the past. In recent days the walk has remembered, among others, the young mother Aurelia Laurenti, killed by her partner with 19 stab wounds in Roveredo in Piano in 2020, and Michela Baldo, killed by gunshots by her ex-boyfriend in Spilimbergo in 2016.
