Gina from Lofoten and her husband Per have had a busy year

(UK Stavanger) – This year is completely crazy, says Gina Fjellheim Kjerstad (42) in a special dialect in the north of Norway.

– I don’t know if I managed to summarize it, because crazy is very broad. But in a good way, she says.

RA Stavanger will meet her and her husband, Per Kjerstad (47) in his office in Pedersgata.

Per shares a building with the production company Chezvillewho, among other things, is behind a TV series in which both Gina and Per play themselves.

Together with Ole Christian Ertvaag (Olec), Per has the podcast “Psykodrama”. This is the starting point for the drama series of the same name, which will be shown on TV2 Play.

“Psychodrama” is produced by the production companies Chezville and Einar Film, and the producers are Julia Joner and Pål Kruke Kristiansen. Arild Fröhlich directs, while the script is written by Birgitte Wegener, Ole Christoffer Ertvaag and Per Kjerstad.

“Psychodrama”

In the comedy drama “Psykodrama”, viewers follow the friends, actors and family men Per and Olec in their own battle and those around them.

The series is a reality-based comedy series, where Gina plays Per’s wife. Olec’s wife, Åse Godal also plays herself.

The characters are enhanced and enhanced, to make it more interesting and dramatic for the viewers.

– We play exaggerated, exaggerated characters of ourselves, says Per, and adds that he is much more angry and happy with alcohol in the series, compared to reality.

– Instead of another woman coming to play me, I wanted to do it myself. I came in with suggestions as to who I could play, but I’m very happy it turned out the way it did, says Gina, who considers it an adventure. to play the role.

A childhood dream came true for her.

– This was real acting, and I liked it to death, more than people understand.

Sharp truth

Per has been an actor for 25 years, but he can think back to the beginning.

– I remember how handsome he was, and he still is. At the same time, this is my job and what I usually do. I don’t get so euphoric all the time, but I have started complaining about things, he says, laughing.

– I have to stop and think about how lucky I am. It’s great to be with someone who is so dedicated. Gina knows me better, for better or worse. She went into this with a good understanding, which we could not take as we expect.

Per and Olec’s shoulders were a little high when they thought of bringing their wives into the series.

– They are very familiar, but it’s a challenging subject, and you have to put up with a camera up your nose. You have to do scenes again and again and not be too sensitive, says Per, who himself is a perfectionist in the role.

Acting talent

He brags about Gina and Åse’s acting talent.

– I didn’t bite my nails for a second. We relaxed and let them tell the story, he says proudly.

Gina received great help and support from her actor friend, Pia Tjelta.

“Chill out! You have no right to do anything! Don’t act – respond”, she said. Today, Gina has a job selling Pia Tjelta’s clothing collection throughout Norway.

– It feels very private in a way, but that’s why we didn’t use our own children, or real homes in the series. We want to have something private again when we are done with this, says Gina, who admits that they have “entered” the stages.

Per explains that this series is fiction, which he hopes and believes people understand.

They hope to do a second season, and a letter of intent for three seasons has already been signed with Tv2.

– Now we first have to see if this works, says Per calmly.

“Luckland”

The NRK drama “Lykkeland” has recorded its third season, which will show the first two episodes, on Saturday, October 26.

The popular TV series ‘the third and last The season deals with the Norwegian oil adventure in and around Stavanger in the late 1980s, in an era of “broad shoulder pads, high hair and lots of partying”, according to NRK.

Gina is there as an extra. Fredrik Nyman plays Per, and Pia Tjelta plays his wife, Ingrid Nyman. Olec has Rein’s role.

– I am the wife of a ship owner, said Gina.

– In fur, add Per.

– Registration is much more extensive than many people think. Make up, hair, looks that need to be remade, freezing outside, and lots of people – to name a few. Suddenly there is a change in the weather, and you have to wait. We have also seen this during the recording of Psykodrama, says Gina and says;

– Everyone who participates in something like this for the first time finds it interesting to participate. They then understand how long the process is behind.

More projects

– You say it was a crazy year, and we still haven’t talked about everything that happened, have we?

– Per has also achieved his big dream of having his own one-man show. It’s been terrible, but it’s gone really well, says Gina.

Per recently presented his first self-produced solo show as a comedian.

“Tired north – beats to death for an hour” was played for over 1,000 people in the Kuppelhallen. Big brother, Morten Kjerstad led and stayed with Per and Gina for two weeks related to the show.

After good feedback, Per was able to arrange a new date in the Kuppelhallen, and several shows in northern Norway.

On Friday 8 November, the show will be performed in the Lofoten Cultural Centre.

– People seemed to really appreciate what I did. I have no words for the love I received. It is not given that they put up with a farmer who stands and boots. Something struck the people of Rogaland, says Per

– I think people find it free, refreshing and delicious when others can be harsh in their language It was big and sensitive to sit in the hall, where 1044 people showed great love. In my 14 years with Per, I have never seen him so happy, Gina said.

He fell asleep with a smile on his face after the performance.

– I have been working so hard, and I have never been so tired in my life. Then it means a lot to get such good feedback, which exceeds all expectations.

“Louie” has become a celebrity

As if there wasn’t enough to do for the Kjerstad family, this autumn they have also been part of another premiere.

The NRK series “From a bully to a best friend” has taken the viewers through a new season through six episodes. Here, the Kjerstad family and their dog Louie are involved.

First and foremost, it is Gina who has been a participant in the reality series, which was recorded between summer and November 2023.

– We didn’t sit down and watch every episode together as a family, admits Gina.

– No, but I got a message from my youngest son that everyone at his school thought I hated dogs. I didn’t see it myself, but I must have called Louie a fool, said Per a little disappointed.

Gina says the jargon between them on the show is really funny.

Gina received emails from people who thought she could find someone better than Per.

He is not too happy with the dog rule, but it shines through that there is no one who loves that dog more than Per. Louie is a full member of our family.

Gina wasn’t particularly worried about the backlash about her husband.

I am glad that “Psychodrama” was not produced. After I said the dog was not my project, Gina received emails from women who wrote: “You will get better than that man!”

Gina and Per believe that the reality series does not give viewers an accurate view of how they are really together.

There may be some messages in my inbox after “Psychodrama”. At least if people do not understand that it is marked.

– They wrote that I deserved better. It doesn’t run deep with us, but it’s silly that people have missed the love that is in what Per says. They have skipped the fun jargon and missed the big love. I think it’s good that Per is honest. He’s just saying that he thinks training with a dog is boring, and that’s fine, concludes Gina.

The couple laugh at each other and say that they are doing well together.
