Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, was pulled from the project after sharing posts on Instagram that compared the current political climate to the climate of Nazi Germany.
Lucasfilm confirmed the news through a statement to Variety: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. However, his posts on social media that denigrate people for their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.
Carano was also fired on Wednesday by the agency that represents her, United Talent Agency.
For her part, the actress found an ally in The Daily Wire with whom she plans to develop and produce her own film. However, he was quick to fight back after his firing was made public.
“The Daily Wire is helping me make one of my dreams come true: developing and producing my own movie. I screamed and my prayers were answered. I send a direct message of hope to all who live in fear of being canceled by the totalitarian mass.
“I have only started to use my voice, which is now freer than ever and I hope to inspire others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.
