Friday, on the TPMP set, Cyril Hanouna received Édouard Eme, the president of the French Béhourd federation. The latter has been at the heart of great controversy, because Béhourd is a medieval combat sport.
This sport is particularly dangerous because it is practiced in armor with weapons like axes and swords. On Sunday September 17, 2023, the Coupe de France de Béhourd took place at Château Faugas in Gabarnac, near Bordeaux.
On the TPMP set, the guest explained that these fights lasted two days with around 70 fights in front of 3,000 spectators. However, during this event, serious incidents occurred.
A fighter was injured during the final, which deeply outraged Gilles Verdez (TPMP). The columnist expressed his anger against this sport: “It’s a massacre in chain mail, no, but you’re crazy!”
He added : “They massacre each other with axes like in the Middle Ages.” However, other TPMP columnists disagreed with Gilles Verdez and defended the sport, arguing that injuries are common in all sports.
They recalled, for example, the recent injury to Antoine Dupont during a rugby match for the France team against Namibia. “They take axes and they hit each other! No, but you are crazy on this set!”added the TPMP columnist.
In response, Édouard Eme launched: “You should try.” Without waiting, Gilles Verdez stood up from his seat, threatening: “I will massacre you with an axe.” A threat that shocked the entire public.
