Durinho fought for the welterweight title on February 13, at UFC 258, in Las Vegas, but ended up knocked out by Usman in the third round. It was the Brazilian’s first loss in the category, including four consecutive victories since he went up to the division definitively in 2019. Second place in the under 77kg ranking, Durinho has 19 wins and four losses in his MMA career.

American Stephen Thompson, 38, has also competed for the belt – twice: on the first, he drew with then champion Tyron Woodley; in the second, he lost in the judges’ decision. Fifth in the ranking, “Wonderboy” has a record of 16 wins, four losses and a draw, and has won its last two fights.
