Gilang Widya Pramana otherwise known as Gilang Juragan 99 has decided to step down as president Arema FC.
The decision was announced by Gilang at a press conference at Arema FC’s office on Saturday (29/10).
“Honestly, I am proud to be part of the Aremania and I am proud to be part of the Arema team. I am proud to be able to bring Arema to excellence. In my first year having managed to bring the Arema to the President’s Cup, it is it was an inestimable pride, “Gilang said at a press conference.
“This presidential position is actually an honorary position where I as an investor receive the tenure of president from the owner and the board of directors and that is an honor for me,” added Gilang.
However, due to deep sadness and trauma, Gilang has decided to step down as president of Arema FC starting on 29 October 2022.
“And because of the sadness, the deep trauma, the feeling of falling. I decided to take a break to take a break from the world of football,” Gilang said.
“And with the current situation. What happened to Arema FC, I feel that Arema needs a better and capable person who can bring to Arema a solid and strong team, a good team, so from today I declare that resign from president “Arema,” added Gilang.
Last Thursday (27/10), Gilang Widya Pramana was interrogated for five hours by the Joint Investigator of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and the East Java Regional Police regarding the Kanjuruhan tragedy. The accident killed 135 people, most of whom were Aremaniaci.
