Gijs Groenteman: ‘I think I can interview more exciting than Margriet and Renze’ | TV

entertainment">The second season of BNNVARA program Media Inside will resume in mid-August. Looking at the success of the first series, the recipe will remain unchanged: Marcel van Roosmalen – who is currently on display in SBS6 show Orange Summer – gives his opinion about what he has seen on TV and Groenteman plays the role of declarant.

entertainment">In conversation with Volkskrant Magazine, the son of presenter and journalist Hanneke Groenteman says that he is ready for a big step. “Jesus Christ, I would love to make a really nice talk show. I now have five episodes of . with Marcel van Roosmalen Media Inside and I think if you could give us a program five days a week where I can interview and disrupt him, that could be fantastic.”

entertainment">In the interview Groenteman says that he has ‘perhaps something arrogant’. “I think I can interview more exciting than Renze Klamer, Margriet van der Linden and that whole bunch of kindergarten teachers from On 1, and that Marcel could make such a program spectacular. (…) So yes, if I’m honest, I’m full of myself.”

entertainment">But when Groenteman is asked to look back on his performance as presenter of Media Inside he speaks with a little less bravado. “My staring in that autocue looked awkward and amateurish. My mother gave me autocue lessons, you can see.”
