Nangoi emphasized the importance of car shows as a solution to overcome these challenges. “And it is hoped that it can maintain or support the recovery of the Indonesian auto industry after the first three months were not good,” Nangoi said at a press conference in Central Jakarta, last Monday (6 /5/2024).
Nangoi said GIIAS 2024 will be a very important event, with the addition of the exhibition area to 12 thousand square meters. This addition makes GIIAS 2024 the largest exhibition in the world outside of China, surpassing major exhibitions such as Shanghai and Beijing.
Nangoi also pointed out that GIIAS has surpassed famous auto shows, such as Geneva and Tokyo. The GIIAS 2024 exhibition will feature more than 50 vehicle brands, including passenger, commercial and motorcycle vehicles, demonstrating the strength and diversity of Indonesia’s automotive industry.
With the participation of brands from various countries such as the United States, China, Korea and Japan, GIIAS offers platform unique for vehicle manufacturers to present the latest innovations and meet potential customers. Nangoi hopes that this exhibition will promote the Indonesian car industry and get more financial support.
Although this year’s sales target is still ambitious, which is to reach one million vehicles, Nangoi admits that the market situation is still uncertain. However, he is optimistic that GIIAS 2024 will be an important step in maintaining and restoring Indonesia’s economic growth after several challenging months. The GIIAS 2024 exhibition is scheduled to be held on 18-28 July 2024 at ICE BDS, Tangerang Regency.
