Jakarta –
General Manager of Ducati Corse Gigi Dall’Igna praised Marco Bezzecchi who has impressed at the start of the 2023 season. As a form of appreciation, Gigi will give Bezzecchi a factory-spec Ducati motorbike.
Bezzecchi performed brilliantly at the start of the 2023 MotoGP season. He has been on the podium 4 times and has tasted 2 wins from the 8 MotoGP 2023 series that have been held. The rider from the VR46 academy is now in 3rd place in the 2023 MotoGP standings with 158 points, under Jorge Martin (159 points) and Francesco Bagnaia (194 points).

With such good performance, Gigi opened up the opportunity to give the Mooney VR46 rider a factory-spec motorbike. “He definitely deserved it,” said Gigi quoted from Speedweek.
“We thought together with everyone involved to find the best solution. Ducati is a family,” continued Gigi. “There has to be respect and also recognition for those who have done the work to bring a rider to this level. But then it’s also clear that you have to find compromises,” he said.
For the record, currently only the Ducati Lenovo and Prima Pramac teams use factory-spec motorbikes, aka the Ducati Desmosedici GP23. If next season, Bezzecchi uses a factory-spec Ducati motorbike, then there will be five Ducati riders using the same machine.
“Obviously the news makes me happy and proud. I thank him – and I really wanted to have a factory machine. I did very well here in VR46,” said Bezzecchi in response to Gigi’s statement.
