The Anthony Joshua-Daniel Dubois fight is one of those fights that electrify boxing fans all over the world. Both boxers have recently confirmed their excellent form, defeating top heavyweights time and again. As a result, the stakes of their Saturday fight were high, because we are talking about the IBF world title.
Before the fight, Anthony Joshua was the favourite among experts. The former two-time world champion had already had a weaker period and was looking better and better with each fight. However, the same can be said about the younger Daniel Dubois, who in his last fights impressed with his strength, courage and uncompromising nature. This heralded an extremely exciting fight.

From the very first seconds, Daniel Dubois started very aggressively and clearly did not intend to play a typical round “for familiarization”. Already in the first minute, Anthony Joshua had some problems after a series of punches from his opponent, but he quickly managed to get out of this trouble. Dubois, however, had no intention of slowing down and in the last seconds of the opening round, he hit Joshua with a powerful right. He fell to the mat, but managed to get up before the referee counted him out. The bell saved him, giving him a chance to recover.
The second round saw both sides exchanging blows, although Anthony Joshua was clearly weakened. Daniel Dubois noticed this too, furiously attacking his rival. What’s more, the former two-time world champion’s defense was leaky, which Dubois ruthlessly exploited, hitting him time and time again – whether with a left jab or a wide right.
The third fight was another great round by the current world champion. Dubois was very active from the start and didn’t give his opponent a moment’s respite. At the end of the third round, Joshua found himself on the canvas again. This time, he was hit by a left hook, and after he was dazed, he was showered with blows. Once again, the bell ending the round saved him.
However, this did not help him much. In the first seconds of the fourth round, Dubois went on the attack again, and Joshua was again lying on the boards. Although he managed to get up, the current world champion “smelled blood” and continued his pressure. Joshua’s situation looked worse and worse – he had no arguments and was only fighting for survival.
The fifth round brought even more excitement. Anthony Joshua landed a blow of despair on Dubois, which slightly shook the champion. “AJ” tried to take advantage of his rival’s momentary weakness and went on the attack. However, Daniel Dubois mercilessly countered with a right hook, which literally knocked the challenger to the mat. This time Joshua was unable to get up. It looked downright terrifying.
After Daniel Dubois’ victory, it seems that he will be the main favorite to fight the winner of the December fight Tyson Fury – Oleksandr Usyk. Regardless of who he fights, it will be a fight that will be watched by the eyes of fans from all over the world. On the other hand, the loser Anthony Joshua will have to prove his worth in fights with other contenders, and there are a lot of them.
