The Japanese Tomoyuki Sugano has become one of the objects of desire of the MLB organizations, facing the 2021 Season. It was recently announced that San Francisco Giants join the list of teams interested in signing Sugano. Those of the Bay would have to compete with Mets and Blue Jays of Toronto, who also look to take the services of the pitcher.
Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area mentioned last month that Tomoyuki Sugano would be a prospect for the San Francisco Giants. This comment would make sense thanks to the recent report by Jon Morosi of MLB Network, where he reports that Giants have shown interest in Japanese.
Tomoyuki Sugano traveled to the United States a few days ago together with his agent Joel Wolfe, from Wasserman. He is expected to make a final decision to sign with an MLB team or remain in the Japan League next week.
Last season in the NPB League with the Yomiuri Giants, Sugano posted an incredible 1.97 ERA in 137.1 innings pitched. In eight career seasons, the right-hander has posted a 2.32 ERA with 1,214 strikeouts and a 1.03 WHIP.
