Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai produced 2 million electric vehicles in less than four years. The company started operations on December 30, 2019. Now more than 50% of all Tesla cars that are sold outside the United States are produced here.
The company launched the production of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles. 33 months after the launch, the millionth car rolled off the assembly line. Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai managed to produce another 1 million vehicles in 13 months.
