The “Christmas in a Shoebox” campaign has started again. A Werdohler pharmacy serves as a collection point for lovingly wrapped gifts. Last year, almost 1,000 gifts were distributed to needy children in Bulgaria.
The organizers announce that the “Christmas in a Shoebox” campaign has started its next round. The Werdohler Stadt-Apotheke on Freiheitstrasse has opened its doors again this year as a collection point for the campaign. Until November 18th, anyone interested can pick up flyers and boxes that have already been covered, feed the donation box and hand in lovingly packaged shoebox gifts.
Organized by the collection point of the Evangelical Church Community of Plettenberg, a total of 964 gifts were sent to Bulgaria last year. This included a large batch of almost 100 packages from Werdohl to bring joy to Eastern European children who live in very poor conditions and have hardly any prospects or opportunities in life.

Collect ready-glued boxes
Participating is very easy: fill a stickered shoebox with new things, such as toys, cuddly toys, clothing, hygiene products and school supplies, and add a personal greeting. If you don’t have much time, you can either pick up ready-glued boxes to fill at the collection points or donate money to the campaign, sometimes also to cover the transport costs.
To do this, either use the box at the collection point or transfer it to the official church account: Ev. Lüdenscheid district church treasury, IBAN: DE22 3506 0190 2001 1936 11, keyword: “Ev. KG Plettenberg – Shoeboxes” (please note your address for a donation receipt).
