The Berlin SPD leader Franziska Giffey wants to make the fight against homelessness a central task of her policy if she becomes the governing mayor of the capital. “The fight against homelessness will be a major task. “I have made up my mind to do everything I can to give people a perspective beyond the street. Or at least alleviate their distress, ”she added. “For this we also have to think about new concepts.”
Federal Family Minister Giffey has been state chairman of the SPD since the end of November. She has already been nominated as the top candidate for the House of Representatives election in autumn 2021 by the state executive of her party.
“Affordable housing, a modern infrastructure and local public transport for various mobility needs or social and internal security remain important,” said Giffey. “Every Berliner should be able to feel safe. That’s what I want to work for. “
