Berlin. Federal Family Minister Franziska Giffey (SPD) pleads for more perspectives for children and adolescents in the Corona crisis as part of further openings.
“I think it is very important that children and young people now have to be right at the front of the debate about further opening steps,” said Giffey on Tuesday in the ARD “Morgenmagazin”.
When talking about hardware stores, flight schools and dog schools, one should also look at the perspective of children. “It cannot be that dogs go to school earlier than children and adolescents.”
Quick and self-tests are a great opportunity
Children and adolescents should not be viewed as students alone, but should be viewed in their entire personality, said Giffey. Leisure time and extracurricular learning should also play an important role; there must be opportunities for children and youth institutions to open up.
According to the minister, quick and self-tests offer a great opportunity. In addition to primary school teachers and kindergarten teachers, child and youth welfare staff should also be better protected and vaccinated as quickly as possible.
