Via Instagram it is known that Giel has completed the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Japan together with Floor. ‘It was already suffering anyway, but the snow made it even more intense,’ writes Giel. ‘Hiking for three days in which you meet no one but yourself. There where nature is the boss and so all the way back to basics.’
Giel calls this journey ‘the most intense journey’ in his life, and also in that of Floor. “But we got each other through.”
Giel announced in August last year that he was going to travel the world. His plans prevent him from making radio, as he did all these years. “No radio making for the first time in 25 years,” he wrote in his announcement.
