After four years, Susanna Gideonsson leaves the presidency of LO for personal reasons. This is reported by DN.
– The simple reason is that 2023 was a really shitty year on a personal level. Several close relatives and friends died. During the Christmas holidays, I asked myself if I would really be able to work as intensively as is required for four more years, says Susanna Gideonsson to DN.
At LO’s congress in May, the entire management of four people will thus be replaced.
Susanna Gideonsson’s task has been to keep LO’s 14 unions together after friction over wage formation and the new las agreement.
– Today we have come together in a completely different way – this was shown not least by the latest agreement movement, she tells DN.
Susanna Gideonsson will now stop commuting to work from Umeå.
– It is simply time for me to invest in my loved ones, get myself a normal life at home. It also feels fair to LO, who can now choose a management that can provide everything that is required, she tells DN.
