SOLO, KOMPAS.TV – Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka is the leader of a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day in Solo, Central Java on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
After the ceremony, Gibran should go straight to the transit room. However, Gibran suddenly stepped off the podium, approached and greeted the teachers one by one.
Gibran also thanked the teachers who had struggled to provide education even though it was difficult in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Thank you, sir, ma’am,” said Gibran as he went and greeted them one by one.
According to Gibran, this is a form of appreciation to the teacher. Gibran said that in the midst of a pandemic like this, the struggle for teachers is getting tougher, many are still unable to adapt to technology.
The Solo city government hopes that teacher vaccination will run smoothly and on time. Then, a new vaccine giving scheme for students will be drawn up. It is hoped that in July 2021, face-to-face learning will begin soon.
