JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming, admitted to receiving complaints from citizens throughout Indonesia via the cellphone number he listed on his official social media account.
He conveyed this when responding to the concerns of a number of “influencers” in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Friday (24/11/2023), regarding criticism on social media.
“You know my cellphone number on Instagram, right? Yes, I usually use it for Solo residents, but now the situation has changed so usually people from all over Indonesia complain,” said the Mayor of Solo at an influencer meeting in Makassar.
Gibran then said that in Solo, there is now a special platform for Solo residents to send complaints.
“And you can see where the progress has gone, the progress has been followed up, has been completed, or whatever. I don’t know if it’s here or not,” said President Joko Widodo’s eldest son.
He said he planned to continue what he had done in Solo to all places in Indonesia.
“What is clear is that you want to have direct access to the leader, right? You want that if there is a complaint, there is something unpleasant, you want something to go directly to the leader, right?” he said.
Gibran believes that citizens have the right to complain directly to their leaders for both small and large problems.
“We want residents to have direct access, to be able to voice their conscience, we want all kinds of complaints to be responded to quickly,” he concluded.
