Statement by senior PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) politician Panda Nababan who said the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a youngster and not yet fit to run in the 2024 presidential election reaps a response. Most recently, Gibran himself also responded to Panda Nababan’s words. How’s the response?
Gibran didn’t bother much with his senior’s statement. He admits that he still needs to learn a lot in the political arena.

Gibran did not even ask Panda Nababan to come to see him in Solo. For him, what Panda Nababan said was input for him as a young politician.
“You don’t have to (come to Solo). You can’t order seniors. Anyway, thank you for all the input, especially senior party members,” said Gibran.
Jokowi Volunteers Defending
The chairman of the Red and White Solidarity DPN (Solmet), Silfester Matutina, defended Gibran Rakabuming Raka who was called a ‘small child’ and did not deserve to run in the 2024 presidential election by Panda Nababan. Volunteers supporting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) it judges Panda’s statement to show arrogance.
“Bang Panda Nababan’s statement shows arrogance and looks down on Gibran, who has been known to have succeeded in establishing and developing various businesses, being able to become a good head of a family, and being able to lead hundreds of thousands of Solo residents with various policies and hard work for the advancement of Solo,” Silfester said. in his statement, Thursday (29/6/2023).
Silfester considered Panda’s statement to be inappropriate for Gibran. As a senior, said Silfester, Panda should guide, not harass and belittle.
“Panda Nababan’s statement is very inappropriate and demeans many young people who are full of achievements and are working hard for the people. As a senior party, Bang Panda should convey guidance, not harass and belittle,” he said.
