Wali Kota Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka is said to have discussed with the party the offer to become Prabowo Subianto’s vice presidential candidate (Bacawapres). PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said DPP Chair Puan Maharani also glanced at Gibran regarding this matter.
“Mbak Puan also said that she was looking too,” said Hasto to journalists at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (1/9/2023).
Hasto said that as a party, it wants to continue to produce leaders in Indonesia. He mentioned how PDIP cadres were given training at party schools for character building.
“Well, as a party, we continue to encourage internal cadres through party school training and then assignments. After the assignment there is an evaluation, then there are further assignments if they are deemed capable of carrying out the party’s ideology, platform and strategic policies,” said Hasto.
“This is a process that is usually carried out so that PDIP has the most young leaders, the most young regional heads, the most youngest legislative members,” he continued.
He said that every offer made to his party must go through high-ranking officials in the PDIP DPP ranks. He said Puan and the Chairman of Bappilu Bambang Wuryanto (Bambang Pacul) would continue to communicate.
“Yes, Ms. Puan has been assigned to be accompanied by Mas Bambang Pacul, Mr. Utut, Mr. Said Abdullah, and Mr. Olly Dandokambey to continue carrying out political communications,” he said.
