REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Chairman of the Indonesian General Election Commission, Hasyim Asy’ari, appointed vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka Be the first participant to convey the vision and mission to 2024 presidential election debate at the Jakarta Convention Center Convention Hall, Jakarta, Friday (22/12/2023). The theme of the second debate includes people’s economy, digital economy, finance, investment, taxes, trade, APBN and APBD management, infrastructure and cities.
“What you need to know is that at the first debate yesterday on December 12, the sequence of presenting the program’s vision and mission was started by presidential candidate number 1,” said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday.
“In the second debate, the program’s vision and mission will be initiated by vice presidential candidate number 2 and so on,” he continued.
Hasyim explained that the first participant to convey the vision and mission of the program during the debate corresponded to the serial number of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs. Hasyim gave an example in the first debate, presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan who was the first to convey his vision and mission.
Then, in the third debate, presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo will be the first to convey his vision and mission. “Tomorrow the third debate will start with presidential candidate number 3 and the fourth debate and so on,” explained Hasyim.
Apart from that, continued Hasyim, the duration of the debate will be the same as the previous debate, namely 150 minutes, with a special debate duration of 120 minutes and consisting of six segments. The debate format has not changed from the previous presidential candidate debate format.
The KPU chairman said that the first segment of the debate would open with the presentation of the vision, mission and work program, then close with the delivery of concluding statements by each vice presidential candidate in the sixth segment.
