The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is deeply saddened by the death of Miyono Suryosardjono. Miyono is considered to be Gibran’s grandfather, or to be more precise, President Joko Widodo’s uncle.
According to Gibran, Miyono is a successful businessman. He also became a mentor for Jokowi as a wood and furniture businessman.
“He is a good person, a successful entrepreneur, a mentor for all. It’s the elder brother (Miyono) who teaches you,” said Gibran, Monday (28/2/2022).
Gibran views Miyono as an entrepreneur who is still productive despite his old age.
“His hard work (is exemplary). Productive until he is old. He still works at the factory every day. It’s extraordinary,” he said.
The last time they met, Gibran said Miyono was still healthy. But suddenly fell ill because of the age factor.
“The last time I saw him, he was still healthy, he suddenly dropped it. It has been a long time (he has been sick), (he is) 82 years old,” he concluded.
At the funeral home, Gibran was seen with his wife, Selvi Ananda. Gibran also met with Jokowi and Kaesang Pangarep.
Miyono’s funeral was held at the Mundu cemetery, Gondangrejo, Karanganyar, not far from the graves of Jokowi’s parents.
