The MLS final between Philadelphia Union and Los Angeles FA certainly lived up to expectations.

The game was completely even, 2-2, after regular time. And the extension was something out of the ordinary. Especially in the last few minutes.

In the 116th minute, LAFC goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau was sent off after tripping Philadelphia’s Cory Burke. Burke injured himself in the same crank and lay in the field for several minutes before being carried off the field on a stretcher.

The drama did not end there. In the 124th minute Union’s Jack Elliott scored 3-2 and it looked like it would be enough to become champions.

Hand. For former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale he wanted the opposite.

Substitute Welsh equalized with a header in the 128th (!) Minute. 3-3 and the game goes to penalties.

On penalties, Philadelphia Union missed two penalties and LAFC’s Ilie Sánchez was thus able to take home a historic first MLS title for the California club.
