Giants – Colts (38-10): Daniel Jones sends New York to the playoffs!

After six seasons with no playoffs, the Giants will play in the Finals again this season!

New York Giants (9-6-1) – Indianapolis Colts (4-11-1): 38-10

They did! While few, going into the season, thought Brian Daboll’s men could snatch a playoff berth, the Giants did it, and in style.

New York struggled for the Colts, increasingly weak, thanks in particular to an excellent Daniel Jones (19/24, 177 yards, 2TD; 11 games, 91 yards, 2TD) and a devastating second quarter for the opponents with 24 points scored and 0 suffered.

After 6 seasons without the playoffs, Giants fans will soon get a taste of the Finals.

An “historic” second quarter.

If the Giants see the Colts score first on a field goal (0-3), the New Yorkers patiently face their problems before eliminating their opponents in the second quarter.

The locals chained a 24-0 run to get out of reach and advance to a quiet victory.

The first two touchdowns come on receptions by Richie James (7rec, 76 yards, 1TD) and Isaiah Hodgins. If the former was the conclusion of a series carried by the ground game and Saquon Barkley, the latter owes much to Daniel Jones and Daniel Bellinger who have advanced the skin throughout the series.

The coup de grace is inflicted by the defense in the following series. On a short pass to Paris Campbell, Nick Foles was intercepted by Landon Collins who ran back 52 yards for the touchdown (21-3).

Shortly before halftime, the Giants add a field goal to make it 24 to 3. Opposite Indianapolis and Jeff Saturday have no answer and continue to offer little on the field. Also note Foles’ injury on his last drive before halftime.

Other than waiting

Inevitably with such a lead and facing the struggling Colts, the Giants need only wait for the whistle to celebrate.

The second half is therefore of little interest but still allows Daniel Jones to refine his very good evening and his statistics with two good touchdowns in the match (38-10).

Meanwhile, the Colts had saved the honor on a Michael Pittman touchdown pass from Sam Ehlinger.
