“It is with great sadness that we can confirm that one guest has died as a result of the accident,” Viking Cruises said.
Viking did not disclose the names or nationalities of the passengers. However, Argentine state news agency Telam said the dead passenger was an American woman.
“Four other passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the crash. They were treated by doctors and medical personnel on board,” Viking said.
The cruise operator said they were investigating. They also canceled their upcoming Viking Polaris trip, scheduled for December 5-17.
