For centuries, the only information scientists had about this mysterious creature, the giant squid, came from studying carcasses or remains found in the stomachs of sperm whales.
Meanwhile, Washington Post reported a preserved giant baby squid washed ashore near Cape Town in 2020.
Devon Bowen, a digital manager at Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, explained that another adult specimen that washed up in the same area in 1992 was just over 30 feet (9 meters) long.
