A fiery incident occurred during a live performance of Fantasmic at Disneyland in California when a 45ft fire-breathing dragon prop went up in flames. Numerous social media videos show the impressive stage prop ablaze, while the audience was informed of the show’s cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as individuals in the vicinity were swiftly evacuated. The incident happened during a performance that promised “enhanced special effects, state-of-the-art projections and superb pyrotechnics” featuring Disney classics, such as Aladdin and The Lion King. The show included a section where the evil queen from Snow White conjures up some of the cartoon giants’ most evil villains, including the malevolent fairy Maleficent who appears as a huge flame-breathing dragon from Sleeping Beauty. Social media users have humorously suggested that Maleficent’s wicked plan may have backfired. Disney has made no comment regarding the incident.
