A 45ft fire-breathing dragon prop caught fire during a live performance of Fantasmic at Disneyland in California. Several videos shared on social media captured the incident as park-goers were informed via the public address system about the “unforeseen circumstances”. Despite a stable situation, the audience was evacuated from the area to avoid any risks. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by the fire department. The show is known for incorporating special effects, projections and pyrotechnics that enhance Disney classic scenes, including Aladdin and The Lion King. It also featured the villainous Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty in the form of a giant dragon breathing fire. With this unprecedented incident, some social media users jokingly commented that Maleficent’s evil plan backfired. Disneyland has not released any official statements regarding the matter. In case you’re interested in more Disney news, the company recently announced three new Star Wars films and the cast for the upcoming Lilo & Stitch remake.
