At the age of 26, David Pastrňák has his dream contract. A contract that is already extremely important even in the entire context of the NHL. The Czech boy from Havířov will become one of the highest paid players in the best league in the world. At the same time, however, it also means an appreciation of how he plays, how he has become the driving force of the Boston Bruins, with whom he may be striving for the Stanley Cup this year.
For the Bruins themselves, it is a critical contract that will limit their expansion in future years due to the salary cap. The team from the most European city of the USA is saying: We value Pastrňák immensely and believe that he is our future.
Hockey player, fashion connoisseur, partner. Look at all the looks of David Pastrňák in the photo gallery:
This is how they celebrate. Typical outstretched arms, No. 88 and frenzied fans behind the Plexiglas. That’s how he celebrates his goals. This year is already approaching the magical fifty.
On Štvanice. He doesn’t just play hockey. When he has free time, he likes to play a game of tennis, as in the photo from Prague’s Štvanice in the summer of 2020. Or, on rare occasions, he kicks a balloon.
Sportsman of the Year 2020. In 2020, he was announced as the winner of the Sportsman of the Year press poll. Attention, the hockey players do not exactly have a bed of roses in this survey. After Josef Mikoláš, Dominik Hašek and Jaromír Jágro, “Pasta” was only the fourth hockey player.
Sadness. Pastrňák also recently experienced a very difficult period. This photo is also from that time. He and his partner Rebecca lost their son Viggo six days after birth in June 2021.
In Karlovy Vary. He went to the 2021 Karlovy Vary IFF with his partner Rebecca.
11th hat trick. A year ago, in January 2022, this is how he celebrated his eleventh career hat trick in the NHL, which he scored against the Philadelphia Flyers.
In the jersey of the national team. David Pastrňák does not hide that it is an honor for him to play for the Czech team. The last time he succeeded was last year at the World Championships in Finland, where he won a bronze medal.
With Rebecca in Vary. With his partner Rebecca, he went to the popular Karlovy Vary International Film Festival again last year.
With a celebrity. At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2022, he also got hitched with model Simona Krainová.
Star match. He played in the NHL All-Star game this year. With the Atlantic Division, they beat the Central Division 7-5 in the finals. As the only Czech representative at the exhibition event, he scored two goals and an assist.
Fashion connoisseur and his shoes. Pastu just enjoys dressing up, it’s his hobby and he scores points with the fans. The statuesque hockey player is not afraid of very bold creations. In 2020, he even won the Fan Choice Awards 2020 for the most elegant NHL player. These are not just any suits, for example from the workshop of the American fashion designer Thom Browne, who also made a collection for Barcelona football players.
Historic hat tricks. This year, with his 13th hat trick, he ranked among the top three Boston Bruins of all time. So far, Phil Esposito is still leading the way.
Signing contract. David Pastrňák at the moment of signing a “historic” contract with Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney.
He replaced Voráček. “Pasta” replaces Jakub Voráček as the highest paid Czech in the NHL. Coincidentally, today Columbus traded Voráček to Arizona, which may mean the actual end of his NHL career.
David Pastrňák is one of the best players in the league this year as well. Well before the end of the regular season, he has already put up 42 goals and it is very likely that he will eventually easily pass the number 50. He is the second best scorer and fourth in points so far.
He has already played 570 games and is close to 600 points in his collection. He has the Maurice Richard Trophy (from 2020) in his pocket for the player who scored the most goals in the regular season of the NHL. He is also a five-time Golden Stick winner and three-time NHL All-Star (2019, 2020 and 2023).
In 2016, “Pasta” signed a six-year contract with Boston for 900 million crowns. Now he has far surpassed that contract.
