Giant Asteroid Approaching Earth, Here’s a List Released by NASA!

A giant asteroid is approaching Earth this year. NASA has just released a list of giant asteroids approaching Earth. The size of the asteroid also varies, of course.

The existence of asteroids in the Solar System is nothing new. However, the presence of asteroids is mostly in the Asteroid Belt.

Now NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) says that there are several giant asteroids vying with each other towards planet Earth at this time.

Giant Asteroid Approaching Earth in 2023

Still in the early half of 2023, NASA seems to have released their observations. The United States’ astronomical agency claims that there are a number of asteroids that will move towards Earth.

There are 5 of these asteroids with varying sizes, ranging from 160 feet to 42 feet. JPL NASA has finally provided clarity regarding the asteroid, complete with name, distance, and details.

Asteroid 2023 BN6

First there is the asteroid 2023 BN6. NASA’s JPL warns that this 100-foot asteroid is moving towards Earth at a high speed of 2,707.2 kilometers per hour.

The airplane-sized asteroid made its closest approach to planet Earth on February 4, 2023. The approach was at a distance of 770,000 kilometers and was considered safe, so it had no effect.

Asteroid 2020 001

If this one space stone has a size of 58 feet. This rock slides closer to Earth at a speed of 27,864 kilometers per hour.

The size of the asteroid is equivalent to a house and will approach Earth in the closest distance, which is 1,840,000 kilometers. Of course it’s still included in the safe distance.

Asteroid 2023 BZ7

NASA also warned that a 68-foot asteroid named 2023 BZ7 is currently en route to Earth. This giant asteroid approaching Earth is moving at high speed.

According to NASA observations, Asteroid 2023 BZ7 is moving at an extraordinary speed, which is 33,552 kilometers per hour. The giant asteroid will cross Earth with its closest distance at 4,650,000 kilometers.

Asteroid 2023 BO7

Next on the list is Asteroid 2023 BO7. This asteroid is also gigantic, with a height of up to 42 feet and is considered scary.

This space rock is hurtling towards planet Earth at high speed, which is 18,540 kilometers per hour. According to NASA, this bus-sized Asteroid 2023 BO7 will cross Earth on February 4, 2023.

At the time it happened, Asteroid 2023 BO7 was at its closest approach to Earth, 5,740,000 kilometers. The proximity of this asteroid also does not have any impact on Earth.

Asteroid 2023 BC4

Finally there is an asteroid named 2023 BC4. As a space rock, 2023 BC4 has a very large size, which is about 160 feet.

This asteroid will move closer to Earth at a distance of 6,210,000 kilometers. Meanwhile, Asteroid 2023 BC4 is currently moving at a speed of 41,724 kilometers per hour towards Earth.
