Indonesia achieved a draw when playing with Ecuador in the 2023 U-17 World Cup Group A match. In the match at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Friday (10/11/2023), Indonesia scored a goal via Arkhan Kaka, equalized by Allen Obando. The match finished 1-1.
Before kickoff there was a small ceremony featuring Aurelie Moeremans and Wika Salim as the 2023 U-17 World Cup began. The stadium was filled with 30,583 people in the stands.
Infantino be one of the people present directly at the stadium. He sat with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, in the honorary tribune.
After the match, Infantino revealed his impression of Indonesia vs Ecuador. He also gave appreciation.
“Amazing match in Surabaya, opening of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Indonesia vs Ecuador 1-1. Full stadium, full of supporters, intense match, everything that football supporters hope (to see),” said Infantino on FIFA Instagram.
