Gianna Corvino and eBay Team Up for NYFW Live Shopping Event
As New York Fashion Week unfolds in September, The NY Archive founder Gianna Corvino is partnering with eBay to host a live-streamed runway show on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 12 to 2 p.m. ET. Staged inside the brand’s New York City showroom, the event features 40 hard-to-get designer looks modeled by tastemakers and influencers, with viewers able to purchase the items instantly via eBay Live.
By upending this timeline, Corvino and eBay are tackling the friction of traditional fashion distribution head-on, turning an intimate showroom into a broadcast-ready stage where digital spectators can bid on and buy archival pieces in real time.
Transforming the Showroom Into a Catwalk
Instead of securing a traditional tent venue, Corvino is converting The NY Archive headquarters into an immersive production space. According to reporting from Entertainment Tonight, the showroom features cheetah-print ceilings, pink shelving, a pink-and-chrome pool table, and walls lined with vintage garments, layered with florals, specialized lighting, and runway seating.
“We’re not taking The NY Archive out of its world and putting it onto a traditional runway; we’re transforming the Archive itself into one,” Corvino told Entertainment Tonight. The event structure divides the presentation into two distinct acts. Guests arrive for the initial broadcast of 20 looks, followed by an intermission to reset the room for a second group of attendees and a final batch of 20 outfits.
Archival Inventory and Instant E-commerce
The catalog for the eBay Live event leans heavily into maximalist designer pieces. According to Entertainment Tonight, the lineup includes archival Roberto Cavalli, full mink coats, beaded Blumarine dresses, Moschino runway designs, alongside selections from Dior, Prada, Miu Miu, and Manolo Blahnik. The Archive has previously drawn celebrity clients including Tate McRae, PinkPantheress, Lily Rabe, and Iris Apatow.
Because the inventory consists of rare, one-of-a-kind vintage items, buyers face immediate scarcity. “Because it’s vintage, there often isn’t another one. Once somebody buys it, it’s theirs,” Corvino noted to Entertainment Tonight. To lower the barrier to entry, the livestream will feature special starting drops priced at $1, allowing remote viewers to secure major designer pieces instantly during the broadcast.
