Starting next season Gianluigi Buffon will return to play for Parma, the team with which he made his professional debut in 1995 and which he left in 2001 after winning a UEFA Cup and an Italian Cup. The former Juventus and Italian national team goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract. He will find Parma in Serie B, after last year’s relegation, and a coach who was his teammate at Juventus, Enzo Maresca. Despite being 43 – two years older than his next manager – Buffon said he wanted to keep playing because he still feels good. The goal of the club owned by American investor Kyle Krause is to return to Serie A in one year.
He is back where he belongs.
