Gianluigi Buffon will not renew his contract in Juventus. The veteran goalkeeper decided to part with Bianconeri at the end of this season.
Buffon’s contract with Juventus expires in June 2021. The 43-year-old goalkeeper has played 12 times with the Old Lady in all competitions since the start of the 2020/2021 season.
Citing a report Football Italia, Buffon is not interested in increasing the duration of his tenure at Allianz Stadium. He expressed his desire to part with Juventus when his contract expires.
“My future is clear and definite. A wonderful and long experience with Juve will end this year,” he said Gianluigi Buffon, reported from Football Italia.
“Whether I will quit or find a situation that motivates me to play, or have a different experience, I will consider it,” he added.
“I have given everything for Juve. I have achieved everything and more than that can not be done. We have reached the end of this circle and it is time to end it,” he said.
Buffon’s decision at the same time ended his second period together Juventus. The former Parma player previously had a career in Turin in 2001-2018.
Buffon’s first period with Juventus ended when he moved to Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the 2018/2019 season. The 2006 World Cup champion only lasted one season in France, before returning to Turin in July 2019.
Gianluigi Buffon a total of 683 appearances in his two terms with Juventus. A total of 21 trophies, including 10 titles Italian League, he has dedicated it to it Bianconeri.
