DENVER — Giancarlo Stanton homered for the fourth time in as many games and reached 1,000 RBIs, adding four in the New York Yankees’ 6-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
Stanton’s home run, to the opposite field, produced three runs. The ball traveled all the way to the right meadow, when there were two outs in the second inning.
Stanton capped a five-run inning off Connor Seabold to put the Yankees ahead 6-1. Stanton, who has 12 homers at Coors Field, drove in the first run on a groundout in the first inning.
He has driven in 16 runs in his last 14 games.
Stanton was replaced by Oswaldo Cabrera in right field in the seventh inning. Josh Donaldson appeared to strain his right calf as he ran to first after a groundout in the seventh.
Clarke Smith (5-6) allowed two runs and three hits in six innings, tying a career high with eight strikeouts.
