At the end of his meeting with mayors, in the framework of the “Fourth Presidential Tour”, President Alejandro Giammattei said he was concerned about the low vaccination rate in the department of Chiquimula, however, he assured that “there are vaccines” and people are needed willing to get vaccinated.
“I want to tell you that we are concerned about Chiquimula, its vaccination percentage is still very low, and in some municipalities it is extremely low. We have seen in other departments and municipalities that the pandemic has subsided as there is more vaccination ”, he declared.
The president assured that “there are vaccines, there are vaccinators, what is missing are the arms that allow themselves to be given the vaccine.”

CENSUS CRITICISM
Giammattei added that the capital city registers a lower percentage of deaths from Covid-19 and that they have vaccinated 110% of people who should have immunized. “Which shows that the census has errors, because we continue to vaccinate people in the capital, they did not count them well,” he added.
DON’T FORGET A BUDGET
In addition, the president indicated that at the meeting it was explained to the mayors that the 2022 Budget increases 15% of income to the Chiquimula mayors, so that they can invest more in the communities, he said.
The meeting was attended by the deputy for Chiquimula of the TODOS party, Boris Spain; In addition, the cabinet of ministers announced that they have invested resources in said department.
