It’s the horrific moment a stranger punched actor Rick Moranis on the head during an unprovoked attachment to New York City.
A video posted to Twitter by the New York Police Department (NYPD) shows Moranis, 67, walking south on Central Park West near West 70th Street around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Suddenly, an unidentified man walking past the star hits him in the head, causing Moranis to fall to the ground.
NYPD did not reveal the victim as Moranis in the tweet, but law enforcement confirmed the identity to the New York Post.

After the attack, Moranis visited a the local hospital, where he reported pain in his head, back and right hip. However, the extent of his injuries is unknown.
The actor then reported the incident to cops in the 20th arrondissement.
The suspect, who was seen wearing a black ‘I [love] The New York sweatshirt, black pants and sneakers fled the scene on foot and had yet to be apprehended.
On Twitter, the NYPD said it was offering a reward of up to $ 2,500 for the attacker’s apprehension.

Moranis, who was born in Toronto, Canada, got his big chance by appearing in the 1983 film Strange Brew.
He went on to appear in a series of commercially successful films including Ghostbusters in 1984, Spaceballs in 1987 and two films in 1989, Ghostbusters II and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Moranis, who took a 23-year hiatus from live-action movies, recently announced that he will be appearing in a Honey sequel, I Shrunk the Kids. Pictured: Moranis (right) in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in 1989

Moranis has remained largely out of the limelight ever since and took a hiatus from his acting in 1997, appearing in a few select projects.
He told USA Today, “As a single parent, I just found it too difficult to be successful raising my kids and making the trips to make movies.
“So I took a little break. And the little break turned into a longer break, and then I found out that I really hadn’t missed it.
In February 2020, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Moranis would reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski in Shrunk, a new sequel to the Honey series, I Shrunk the Kids.
It is the first live-action film the actor has starred in 23 years.
