The “Ghostbusters” series is one that is characterized by pleasant nostalgia for many today. The first “Ghostbusters” by director Ivan Reitman from 1985 has become a cult film. Many scenes from the original are still often quoted today, as are some lines of dialogue. The franchise ended in 1989 with the second part “Ghostbusters 2” and only came back 17 years later with the reboot of the same name in 2016. Callie (Carrie Coon) moves in with her two children Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) are forced to move to the small town of Summerville. In the country they move into Callie’s late father’s dilapidated house and after a short time they find strange equipment in the shed and in the house that puzzles them. At the same time, inexplicable phenomena are happening in the city. Trevor and Phoebe soon realize that all of these things have to do with their grandfather, his job and the events in New York in the 80s.

The end of the film already teases it, but the return to the ghost hunters wasn’t certain until later. First, those responsible waited for financial success, which always plays an important role alongside the reviews. Now the time has come: “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”, presented for the first time under the working title “Ghostbusters: Firehouse”. on March 21, 2024 in German cinemas start. The sequel is again set in New York City and was also directed by Ivan Reitman.
