On the official PlayStation Blog one can read that Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are now in the process of making a movie of Ghost of Tsushima. The project is still in an early phase, and with them as director they have got Chad Stahelski.
Stahelski is best known as the director behind the action trilogy John Wick with Keanu Reeves, and has previously also worked as a stuntman and stunt coordinator.
Great success
Like the game, the film will focus on the samurai warrior Jin Sakai and his struggle to liberate the Japanese island of Tsushima from the Mongol invasion. Beyond this, there is still very little known about the upcoming film.
Developer Sucker Punch Productions also used the opportunity to announce that 6.5 million copies of Ghost of Tsushima have been sold since its launch last summer. About half have completed the game, according to the developer.
The game became a huge sales success and sold 2.4 million copies in just the first three days after launch, which made the game the fastest-selling game in a new series from a Sony-owned studio.
Ghost of Tsushima was also well received by reviewers, and here at the work, the game was awarded respectable 9 out of 10 points.
