Good news for sports clubs and their fans, at least for some. One day after the Bavarian State Government ordered ghost games in the Free State, spectators can still be admitted to certain sporting events. This was confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior in response to a PNP request.

The Passau Black Hawks (ice hockey Oberliga Süd) or EV Dingolfing (ice hockey national league) can play their next home games in front of fans, as both clubs have now communicated. According to the 2G-Plus regulation, the stadiums may be used up to a maximum of 25 percent, in the Marco Sturm ice rink 625 spectators can watch the home game of the “Isar Rats” against Freising on Sunday evening (Bully 6pm). 375 fans are allowed in the game against SC Riessersee (6.30 p.m.) in the Passau EisArena.

In the Bundesliga, however, the Bavarian stadiums will remain empty from Saturday until the end of the year. FC Augsburg has to play in the 30,660-seat arena in front of completely empty stands. The same applies to the volleyball players from NawaRo Straubing and Rote Raben Vilsbiburg. Why? Because the Council of Ministers decided on Friday: “No spectators are admitted to major national sporting events, especially the games of the national leagues (” ghost games “). The persons required for competitions or training as well as for media coverage are excluded if they meet the admission requirements customary for 2G plus. “

No fans at ice hockey in Landshut and Straubing

In response to a PNP request, the press office of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior will clarify on Saturday where spectators are still possible after consulting the local authorities: At sports events from leagues in which only Bavarian teams meet. The Ministry of Health has laid down the following basic interpretation of the arrangement of ghost games: “Large sports events are considered to be in which, under the provisions of the 15th BayIfSMV, as a rule more than 500 spectators could take part. National sports events are competitions and leagues in which Bavarian teams or Bavarian athletes (also) compete against non-Bavarian teams or athletes. As long as non-Bavarian teams also participate in the relevant league, the encounter between two Bavarian teams (derby) is also considered supraregional. “

Specifically, this means using the example of ice hockey: In the Oberliga Süd, with its twelve Bavarian clubs, fans are still allowed to be in the stadium, but not in the national leagues (DEL and DEL2).
